4 Reasons SPRING is the BEST time to Go Solar

Whether you’ve been doing the research and considering solar for quite some time or you’re just beginning your solar exploration, there are several reasons that SPRING 2021 is a GREAT time to go solar!

Summer solar production is the highest you’ll receive all summer.
For Ameren customers the Net Metering year begins April 1, at the start of the high production season. Net Metering is when solar energy from the sun is converted into more electricity than you need for your home and the excess is sold back to the utility company. The more excess energy your solar installation collects, the better for your power bill. Getting your system up and running early in the Net Metering year allows your system to produce more than you use, giving you credits to apply toward utility bills during the lower production winter months in Illinois.
Ameren’s Net Metering Program has a very limited amount of space left.
In order to take advantage of Ameren’s Net Metering Program, customers must claim a space. Experts suggest that spots will still be available for approximately another 12-18 months on a first-come basis.
Our install schedule is the shortest it will be for the rest of the year.
The faster your solar system is up and running, the faster you’ll see an impact on your utility bills. During the last several years our schedule fills up as soon as those high electric bills start rolling in during air conditioning season. Spring is the time to get on our schedule so you can start harnessing the energy of the sun.
SunPower allows you to get the benefits of the Illinois SREC even though it is on waitlist.
SRECs are Solar Renewable Energy Credits administered through the Illinois Shines Program. These credits can help solar customers recoup their investment, potentially covering 20-40% of your total solar investment, as an incentive for renewable energy in Illinois. Though the SRECs are currently on waitlist in Illinois, SunPower is willing to wait for the SREC on your behalf so you can take full advantage of those credits through SunPower’s Lease and Loan Program.
